2023 was the first year I kept a chart as the year went on, in "real time," and I thought I could keep it down to 8 albums per month so that I would have 100 at the end. That didn't work, because several of my favorite bands from the 1990s either got back together to make new albums (Blur, Slowdive, Blonde Redhead), or had members make solo albums (Dave Rowntree, Emma Anderson). It ended up being closer to 11 albums per month. So, to those recording artists who are glowing-eyed furious about being "offloaded" in this fashion, I apologize profusely. "It's a numbers game," as they say in the numbers-game industry.
