Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Near the mainstreamtrap but however indidual
A fab mix of 80's-inspired pop and alt-pop. I love it.
So many albums and artists in common ! I really love your chart...

Stuff you might like from my 2010s chart, based on your taste: The Age Of Adz, Space Is Only Noise, Kaputt, The Soft Moon, Teen Dream. I'd recommend starting with those.

These albums make up a soundbite of my life.....They are not my 100 favourite albumsas of 2012 but rather the 100 albums which I loved more than anything at some stage of my life. I am not out there playing Wham and Madonna every 5 minutes but rather I grew up with them and so therefore you find them here on this chart to varying degrees. Garbage, Nirvana, NEw Order to mention but a few just missed out on the cut. Less well known albums by Whipping Boy and Electronic wil suprise you and delight you......Don't be afraid to enjoy the artists which you pre-judge you won't like. Be honest is my motto.............................
