Risky metal music, destroyed by a few flaws stronger than the positives. To its credit, the instrumentation is more valorous than replying on shock value/head bumping, which is kind of a great thing to hear. Technical death metal it is. Here, the one big disadvantage in Atvm's album is (like with most metal lately) the vocalist is trying too hard to be cutting edge and it either reads as pretentious or funny - in this case, goes both ways sometimes; he sounds like he's burping. It's a shame because the band plays frequently well and some of the best moments (most notably Ⲁⲛⲋ-ⲟⲩ Ⲙⲁⲧⲟⲩ is a well-polished song). The other disadvantage is the mixing; the guitar mostly sounds cluttered and that helps loose its energy. Bass is also too quiet, and compositions like these would benefit a lot with a thundery bass.
