"I'll try to answer jackbrown8786's question about how someone could think this album is better than Machine Head. The thing is, if you are into 60's psychedelic music that has prog tendencies (Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd, The Moody Blues, Caravan), then you might enjoy this album better than a more ..."  [+]  Reply

"Perhaps even stranger than their first release... it's hard to decide. Another amazing album. I especially love Kevin Ayers song (As long as he lies perfectly still) and "Dedicated to you but you weren't listening". This music just kind of flies around all over the place and does so in a very int..."  [+]  Reply

"It says something for the lack of respect for the full length LP as an art form in 1963 that The Beach Boys (or Capitol Records) could get away with such a tacky concept – recycling four songs from previous albums and quickly recording eight new ones to create a hastily constructed car-themed album."  [+]  Reply

"Great album, very honest in its delivery and probably their best album. It is raw and doesn't even try to be refined, even comparing to their debut funnily enough. There were some arrangements and harmonies there and they are almost completely absent here, but this is not a complaint, those diffe..."  [+]  Reply

"A fun album just to grab and listen to. Best tracks: Magic Carpet Ride, Faster Than The Speed of Life, None Of Your Doing and 28. A must-have for Steppenwolf fans. Overall, better than their first."  Reply

"Not as good as, Truth, but an enjoyable and raw album. Beck is on fire here but overall the record doesn't have the coherence of it's predecessor. Still a gritty little rock'n'roll album though."  Reply

"Mmmh. It's a pretty good album, I don't deny it. It's nothing to be really excited about, though. Just nice rock 'n' roll in The Animals' style. What is really interesting here is to discover Morrison's early style, which has nothing to do with his much more soulful solo career. His voice is clos..."  [+]  Reply
