"My favourite album by The Cure. It's one of those albums perfect for a dreary rainy day. Feels very minimal as if Smith produced the whole thing in his basement, it all builds up momentum to "A Forest" which is probably their best song. "Play for Today", "In Your House", and "M" are other highlig..."  [+]  Reply

"Mark Knopfler goes for the epic on Dire straits fourth album. Love over gold, only consists of five songs, but they are all excellent. Telegraph road, is a stunning opening track, and it's followed by the atmospheric, private investigations. Side gives us the enjoyable, industrial disease, the lo..."  [+]  Reply

"A great album and I think it's quite underrated among the Floyd fans. It's dreamier, more obscure and experimental than the Piper, but it has a special atmosphere on the whole album, I like that so much. Remember a Day is my favourite track from the album."  Reply

"Peter Gabriel leaves the band, yet the band's sound remains intact. I would argue that this album is softer and perhaps more accessible than Foxtrot and The Lamb, mainly because of Collins' voice (NOT the direction of the band...that would come later). They were just as progressive here as they w..."  [+]  Reply

"While slightly below Nothing Shocking in overall quality this album is almost as perfect! Had Been Caught Stealing been replaced with Kettle Whistle I believe it would have been aabd this would be the best album of all time! That being Said Three Days is the best song ever recorded! Perfection!!!..."  [+]  Reply

"After dipping her toe in the sea of electronica with Bjork's help on her last album, Madonna enlisted William Orbit to helm "Ray Of Light" and it sure paid off. Unlike other madonna albums that sound like singles & filler, this sounds like an "album" -- a thought-out, cohesive idea. And it's pret..."  [+]  Reply

"I have always rated this album very highly in Bowie's canon, though there've been plenty of demurrals. It was meant to be a straight musical of 1984, but the Orwell estate wouldn't give him the rights to the material - presumably because they predicted Eurythmics ten years hence in the very year ..."  [+]  Reply

"Just slowly falling out of love with Beach House... it's a pretty album (like everything they've done), but it feels like slowly bungee-cording over a very wide net rather than a true plunge into the beautiful abyss. They're talented composers but they need to develop some edge, it's all starting..."  [+]  Reply

"Thoroughly enjoyable mid-eighties prog pop/rock album. Misplaced childhood, was a magnificent success for Marillion, and is still one of their best, if not their best album. Featuring the massive hit single, Kayleigh, it also includes, lavender, and the, heart of Lothian singles. It's still a gre..."  [+]  Reply

"A lot of emotion on this record. Romeo and Juliet and tunnel of Love are just beautiful songs, offset by a no-nonsense rocker in solid Rock. Have to say though...the live versions of most of these songs are better."  Reply
