Très bon album de pop italienne.
Belle voix et surtout de très belles mélodies. Bandera Bianca est mon gros coup de cœur.
Uno dei pochi dischi PERFETTI, composto da 7 brani che sarebbero tranquillamente potuti uscire tutti come dischi. Il perfetto esempio della sperimentazione a servizio di una perfezione pop difficile da trovare in altre composizioni. Per non parlare dei musicisti che ci hanno suonato...
A mio parere uno dei migliori dischi della storia della musica italiana, un opera dal valore culturale in grado di contenere al suo interno sette tracce "singoli", brani che fanno ognuno storia a sè. Durante l'ascolto del disco vengo puntualmente catapultato in sensazioni ed emozioni completamente diverse fra di loro...ascoltando "Gli Uccelli" ci si sente parte del regno dei volatili, con "Summer on a Solitary Beach" il tempo si ferma e si viene trasportati in una realtà surreale fatta di spiagge deserte come nelle festività natalizie, e potrei andare avanti per qualsiasi traccia.
Questo album è il perfetto epilogo della storia compositiva di Battiato, riuscito a coniugare al suo interno il pop melodico che ha caratterizzato gli albori della sua carriera (più canzonette che pop) con momenti sperimentali tipici della sua seconda vita più alternativa e psichedelica sempre in funzione della canzone, mai per il semplice gusto di disorientare l'ascoltatore.
Un punto di riferimento per tutti i musicisti italiani.

Come tutti quelli che normalmente non ascoltano Battiato, anch'io di questo disco ho soprattutto amato tre canzoni: proprio quelle tre che conoscono tutti a memoria e che, trentacinque e più anni fa, avevano indotto tutti ma proprio tutti ad andare in giro cantando di dinastie dei Ming, gesuiti, euclidei e di non sopportare i cori russi, la new wave italiana, il free jazz o il punk inglese pur non avendo mai ascoltato niente di tutto ciò…
