The second of Cherry Red's imaginary sequels to the seminal NME C86 tape. The guitars still jangle, the songs are still produced on a shoe-string budget, and the celebrated environs of musty bedsit-land is never far away. But yet, the scene has a loveable (child-like) charm and innocence that was sadly swept away by the more commercially driven strains of Madchester and Brit-pop, as well as providing a fertile springboard for future big-hitters The Stone Roses and The House Of Love.
Harking back to a time when indie was more of an ideology than a genre, C88 is a welcome addition to any self respecting indie fan's collection. Just remember, it's different for domeheads.

A lot of hard work happens in the background to keep BEA running, and it's especially difficult to do this when we can't pay our hosting fees :(
