Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.4/100, a mean average of 77.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.4.

not a fan of the new the war on drugs LP

I enjoy the songs, but as an album it really drags. I think there's about two different drum lines in the entire thing.

A War on Drugs album with the some of the most crisp production.
It's decent well-written arena rock, but void of any edge, like strong vocals with tight harmonies and melodic hooks. The songs are still too long, and I find myself getting lost in the dreamy nature of a lot of these songs. Yes, it's good. But if you're doing arena rock, I want a few songs that I can come back to and sing along with the chorus.

The War on Drugs previous album ‘A Deeper Understanding’ was released four years ago and for album number five ‘I Don’t Live Here Anymore’ seemingly Adam Granduciel was working on the if it ain’t broke don’t fix it theory by largely following the blueprint that made the War on Drugs one of our times pre-eminent artists. Regardless, this is a simply gorgeous album clearly underpinned by themes of change, relocation, loss, loneliness and reflection upon ones own life. Yet the album as a whole feels positive with hope, light and ultimate redemption and explains why I think this album is so exceptional. And live these tracks simply sizzle and come to life with band and instruments as tight as a drum
All in all, this is a rich and astonishing slice of audible art that rewards the committed listener
Good album, first time I listened to them it makes me want to listen to more of their discog.

It’s only rock and roll, but oh my word do I like it… Life-affirming, soulful, beautiful music.

A hypnotic, 80's reboot dreamscape that feels completely innovative for 2021. Like lost in a maze that I don't care about getting out of. Best album for me in 2021.
Heard it 3 times here is my reaction after each listen:
1st- Nice heartland rock (its ok)
2nd- damn some of these tracks are getting me emotional. I think i understand the themes of the albums a bit more.
3rd- Give me War on Drugs music straight in my veins! Try not to get teary eyed! Favorite album of the year so far
Let me just listen to the first track, change and I dont live here anymore for the tenth time
Lovely and dreamy album.
