Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Leisure from Blur was a bit of a surprise, personally, I thought that was one of their weaker albums, but I remember liking a lot when I was younger so I'm happy to see it getting some love. :)

Dark Side as number 1, Maiden, Dead Can Dance, King Crimson, Miles Davis (here I thought it couldn't get any better), Opeth, Coltrane, Joy Division, Jarre... I'm glad you don't have 100 entries cause there isn't a rating better than 100
