Top 100 Music Albums of 2014

For 2014, i'm tightening my minimum track-average rating from 61.67 to an even 64. The only allowable exceptions are: 1) those with a strong whole-album concept (where the whole is stronger than the sum of the parts), 2) albums JUST under 64-track avg that i believe i'll like more (and subsequently re-rate up) over time, and 3) for sentimental favorites.
I'm including brief synposes of albums here and will expand upon them per album once 2014 is over.

tUnE-YaRdS is backed with another off-the-wall, strange take on pop music with a Prince malleable voice following the superb "w h o k i l l". I read an interview that she studied up on creating pop songs so she could perfect that in her music; but the irony is, this album's a bit of a step down from "w h o k i l l". I think band mastermind Merrill Garbis should just let the music flow. Her songs work best that way, like on "water fountain". [First added to this chart: 05/01/2014]
