Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Really enjoyed checking out this chart & discovering a few UK 90's albums/artists that I've added to my own charts. Quite surprised to find 5 Midnight Oil & 2 INXS albums - nice to find someone who has so warmly embraced Aussie talent.

Hey thanks for the comment. I like yours too. Comments are fun. Took me a fuck ton of time to do all of them and then I changed the albums so now maybe 70% have comments. Anyway, it's cool.
Random Rec that you may have already heard: XO by Elliott Smith. If you love the Beatles and MVOTC, you'll love that album probably. Amazing melody, harmony, mix of folk and highly polished pop .

2 albums de U2 dans le top 10, fallait oser.
Même remarque pour "Fous à lier" des Innocents à la 18ème place, entre le V.U. et Pulp !
"Samedi soir sur la Terre" juste avant Nevermind, j'avoue avoir un peu de mal à le digérer ! Tu me pardonneras.

To be honest, I didn't like the chart too much at the begining. But then I scrolled down, saw Elbow and Pulp amogst other strange choices I also like or respect and decided it is quite good and very different to most charts here.
