Available from 
The third and final studio album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience and produced by Jimi, this is his greatest work. The production is exceptional with unique effects developed by Jimi and the band (but mostly Jimi!). I love the experimentation going on here
This is my favourite Experience album
I have always struggled to articulate this album to other people so I’m going to use the words of other, more eloquent individuals to articulate my thoughts on the album. Hendrix called the tracks on this album “sound paintings” and I think that sums up the concept and delivery of the album particularly well. David Stubbs, said that it is "undoubtedly a rock album, albeit rock on the point of evolving into something else." I think that’s a good description. To have been in his head when he was making this. Where might Jimi have gone if he had lived?
In my words it’s a far-out funky / psychedelic blues album that draws heavily on psychedelia. It feels messy in places and sprawling, maybe even mixed-up and muddled and I love it. There are few albums ever recorded that have as much energy
flowing through them as ladyland.
It’s an amazing piece of work that’s essential for anyone’s record collection

One thing, though: no albums released before 1965? There are some excellent albums which were released in the early '60s.

"I have to own it." Ironically this is the same rule I have with my charts. The thing is I don't have a big of collection as you obviously. So yes I happen to only have 3 albums from the 60s and they are all Beatles' albums. So giving it a 5/100 and calling it predictable is a bit misconstrued don't you think? Wouldn't it have been better to give me some recommendations?

Great chart!
And I also have this "no compilations" rule on my decade charts, except if they contained music which was directly connected with that decade, or that contained music that had been created in that decade! On my overall chart, though, I do include compilations.

Hadn't realised that I hadn't picked any pre 65 albums. Weird. No plan to that & as the chart gets towards the 100, there are definately going to be albums from all 10 years but well spotted.

A great decade chart. 34 albums in common but there are musical differences but that's a good thing. I will definitely explore some of your choices that I have not heard of. (Edited)
