Top 100 Greatest Music Albums

Hey, it's all good. As long as I stay at 80 or above, I don't mind the occasional 70 or 60 and I certainly don't mind the occasional 90 or 100 ;)

Just to clarify, I have listened to albums multiple times in a row before. I've done it with Doolittle on numerous occasions, I'm sure I've done it two or three times with OK Computer, and I believe I've done it once with The Downward Spiral. My most extreme example was a time where, for an entire car ride, I listened only to Wish You Were Here, which totaled to 4 times through the whole album. However, Mutemath is the only album I've listened to immediately following my *first* listen. My first listen to an album is really an experience for me and something I really like to leave as a standalone listening experience. Especially for an album as long as Mutemath (65 minutes) it can be overwhelming to follow-up the first listen with a second immediately.

Decided to call it quits (it's 3 AM over here) after arranging the top 50. So I have 50 albums left to re-order, and it takes longer the lower you go down the list (I'm essentially taking each album, comparing it to the next album above it (e.g. #49 compared to #48), and if it's better, it moves up one, and then I compare it to the next (#47, #46, etc.) until my answer is "it's not better".

So, the current top 50 are in their final order. This does not, however, mean that other albums will not take up spots in-between the top 50 albums, simply that, regardless of what happens when I finish this off, for example Pinkerton > Pet Sounds > What's Going On > TDSotM will still be the case even if there are albums that are placed in the middle of them.

In other news holy fucking shit Siamese Dream jumped up FORTY-SIX FUCKING SPOTS TO NUMBER FUCKING TWO ON MY CHART. GRACE AND THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL CLIMBED ABOVE KID A AND DOOLITTLE. I DON'T EVEN HAVE WORDS.

Nice blurb at the start... That was alot of ado. Decent albums throughout. I'm not crazy about City & Colour, but they're so much better than Alexisonfire.

Boston has always been what I consider to be the album that defined hard rock. At one point, it was my #1 for sure, and I doubt it will ever slip lower than its' current position.

Once I unlock the opportunity to put more albums on the list, you'll see a couple more Radiohead albums, maybe one more Beatles album, some more Queen, and a mix of other stuff. I've tried to not have a bias towards any particular artist, but I honestly feel that Radiohead have never made a bad song, and the list would not be honestly made if I had stuck to a "one album per artist"-type rule.

Also, I agree, the username rocks some. It's actually the name of my solo project; I'm in a band, and I also have a thing going on the side. If you ever see the name pop up in music, chances are it's probably me. Cheers.

In Rainbows is the next Radiohead album in the list, expect it early on in the bottom 50 once I unlock the ability to make a 100-strong list.
