Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Truly the most interesting and eclectic chart I have seen on this site, somehow marrying classics like Spiderland with T. Swift and Nicki Minaj. It is very 2010s focused, but I respect your authenticity. Very cool!

I have never seen a chart like this, and I can give strong marks for that alone.
I am very familiar with only a small number of these albums, and have not heard of most of them. However, with the exception of ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ (I am no Floyd fan) and ‘Come with Us’ I mostly like and even love the ones I do know, although I am indifferent to the Cure.
If you were looking for pre-1990s recommendations, I can suggest:
— ‘The United States of America’ by The United States of America
— ‘Hejira’ by Joni Mitchell (if you’re put off by the “folk” label this is totally unique and intensely atmospheric)
— ‘Future Days’ and ‘Soon Over Babaluma’ by Can
— ‘Garlands’, ‘Head Over Heels’, ‘Treasure’ and ‘Victorialand’ by the Cocteau Twins
— ‘Drum’ by Hugo Largo (although from 1988)
— ‘Love Agenda’ by Band of Susans (although from 1989)

Finally a chart with some breaks and house albums. Ils, Dosem, Eelke Kleijn, Dusty Kid, Layo & Bushwacka, Way Out West, Elite Force, Hybrid, Noisia. This is the first time I've ever seen any of those albums on this site. I have all those albums and they're all in my charts. Fuckin awesome chart.
