In 1980 I was still in secondary school. I was the prick who thought anything I didn't listen to was just uncool. I was an avid reader of the NME and treated it almost as a bible. I bought so much crap because of their propaganda. Not all of their advice was bad, though. This chart contains many bands I discovered in the pages of NME.

Liverpool was so cool at this time. It had the Teardrops, Wah, the Bunnymen and the Zoo lable. I wanted to go to Eric's, but my mum wouldn't let me travel down from Arbroath.
