80.00* Did very well commercially but not how I would summarize typical commercial radio music. More like they picked up and ran with what seemed popular at the time. Quite haunting in scope and vocal. Many decent tracks.

75.62 After the glorious albums before it, I was quite disappointed with this. I tried to like it but it just didn't gel with me. A few great tracks but overall it seemed like the magic songwriting well was running dry. 'Wasted Years' is of the same legendary status as the best of the songs before it but for most of the rest, I found it average ho-hum

75.00 Put out after 'Defenders of the Faith' which was always going to be a hard act to follow. I remember when this came out it got hammered in reviews due to them using synth guitars. The title track is up there with the best tracks they've made. There's a couple of songs where the synth guitars are quite prevalent but overall it's a stock standard meat and potatoes classic metal album. Overall it's an average album from them. Nothing to get excited about but it's still alright. 01/25

73.87* Commercially pushed with a high number of radio singles. "Land of Confusion" being the standout. Most of the rest is quite syrupy sap mainly due to the vocals which I've discovered I'm not a big fan of. I know many would disagree but Phil should've just stuck to drumming. 06/25
