From the first note, I fell in love. Time the Revelator is also on my top 10 songs of all time list. Every song is excellent though and the recording is pure and true.

Some of the best sounds and style of any folk/songwriter album. Every song is brilliant but I think Refuge of the Road might be my favorite. Maybe Hejira is my favorite. Amelia? I don't know...they are all classics.

Classic and futuristic at the same time. What else can be said? This is a great album about life and death without being preachy. It is very hard to deal with issues like this in music without getting snobby and disenfranchising people. This album is not interested in tribalism or my philosophy/religion is better than yours. It is just pointing out what modern life has become and what you must look past in order to find true meaning in humanity.

This was an instant classic for me. Cannot believe it did not catch on when it came out. I feel like kids 20 years from now will find this CD or stream this online and it will become like the hidden gem classic that never got the praise it deserved.
I heard an interview with her about this album and it always intrigued me. (Google Erika Wennerstrom NPR interview to learn about the mantra of this album. It is a crazy good interview that will make you want to listen to the album.) After remembering the interview months later, I finally sat down and listened to the album. The production is amazing. The guitar sounds are amazing. She has always been one of my favorite vocalists (Heartless Bastards), so I knew the vocals would be great. The subject matter is very personal and uplifting and I think this is one of the best sounding albums I have ever heard.

As a whole piece, hard to find a better concept album. Love the lyrics, imagery and the rawness. An album that is so unique in subject matter and sound. Amazing and worthy of all the praise.

Yeah. The guitar parts and concept on this are amazing and have no fat. I have heard these songs probably over a hundred times and still don't get sick of any of them at all.

The guitar sound is so distinctive and awesome. Very unique vocals that does take some getting used to in my opinion. The band is just so underrated though. They created some of the best sounding space-rock of ALL TIME.
I guess I love this album like some people love My Bloody Valentine. They are not completely similar but I think these albums are connected somehow. I still have not loved MBV - Loveless yet but have only listened to it a few times all the way though. Maybe that one will grow on me sooner or later. [First added to this chart: 11/02/2020]

Best metaphorical story songs. Not a huge Dylan fan but I love this album and I think many of these songs are among the best songs ever written.

Great and personal chart! I'm highly intrigued by your lesser-known picks in the top 20, we share favourite albums by more than a few artists so I know I'll enjoy your selections! Meditation is big for me too, I highly recommend "The Mind Illuminated" for further training, it's an extremely helpful book with high readability, practical directions on every page. I hope you keep finding great hidden gems, because I want to come back and see more!
