I'd forgotten this was released in 1980, and the movie itself is terrible, but this soundtrack is basically a Harry Nilsson album with a few different singers.

This record marked the first time I'd ever heard Harold Budd, and it actually influenced the way I approached the piano, meaning that I always wore shoes and had a lot of digital effects units handy whenever I got close enough to it to plug them in. Later, Budd started to appear on records with other musicians I liked even more, such as Andy Partridge, John Foxx, and the Cocteau Twins. So I could tell everyone, "I knew him when he was just another Eno collaborator."
