"if you ever do LSD, listen to this album. even though the lyrics are depressing, the mood it creates is a wonderful air of chill nostalgia. i can only compare it to a 3 year old on christmas morning"  Reply

"(To alelsupreme) ...Although delayed some years... Dude, you came here just to denigrate the album, you need to have a little common sense, I'm not the biggest fan of this album but I know the historical importance in relation to Rock and Roll, and there are at least four great songs here, and an..."  [+]  Reply

"Oh, I love that guitar and bass aesthetic...what a sleepy, dream atmosphere. London’s voice lilting over top is divine. Nice studio technique shown here too, such as the vocals in the codas to both “Cry Me A River” and “I Love You”."  Reply

"Clifford Brown was an absolute master of the hard bop trumpet and this is his most articulate release. Max Roach's drums are energetic and expressive and the rest of the ensemble fits perfectly. This is a quintessential jazz album."  Reply

"In jazz terms sold like hot cakes in the day and was an important cash cow for Columbia. Entertaining and accessible piano based jazz. You'll be a happy clam after you get your pinkies on this."  Reply

"A step-down from the amazing W.C. Handy tribute of the year before. A solid collection of songs but only the final two captivate me, 'Black and Blue' with its darkness and 'Ain't Misbehavin' with its energy."  Reply
