"There is no way that 'The Final Cut' should sit above this album, or 'Pulse' for that matter as the latter is a compilation! This album doesn't get the credit it deserves, it is a very psychedelic offering and dishes up some real classics, 'The Nile Song' and 'Ibiza Bar' being two of them, not to..."  [+]  Reply

"This is essential listening for any fan of either jazz or guitar. Wes was the epitome of smooth and cool, and you can hear the sheer joy of musicmaking in this recording."  Reply

"One of the most important albums of American music ever made. Woody is the great American trubador and "Dust Bowl Ballads" is a kind a musical narrative of the Great Depression that is the equal to Stienbeck's "Grapes of Wrath" for gritty realism. Woody's influence on the music Bob Dylan, the Byr..."  [+]  Reply

"One of those John Coltrane albums that's either genius or nonsense, depending on what mood I'm in. It sometimes works for me, other times it just annoys and frustrates me. Am i trying to like it? Do I like it? Or do I hate it? I don't know, I really don't know."  Reply

"Great psychedelic almost instrumental album. Parts of the music on side two could fit a cowboy movie, given the drama created between the guitar and rhythm section. Perhaps this was intended looking at the rear off the sleeve artwork and text. It offers something different to a lot of the psyched..."  [+]  Reply

"Peterson has such a unique and identifiable touch on the piano. It’s classy and sharp yet explorative and so bluesy. Night Train is a marvelous showcase of that, especially as the record gets going and has established a mood."  Reply

"This is an album which I've felt many ways about at many different times. When I first heard it I thought it was an emperor's new clothes situation. I heard all the glowing reviews, heard the story of Skip Spence, the way this ramshackle, indescribable album influenced a lot of my favorite artist..."  [+]  Reply
