"Fantastic album! Some bands sophomore albums aren't as good as their first but man oh man is this one excellent. Shuttered Room is quite the album but Reach the Beach is easily one of the best and most underrated of the 80s." Reply

"There are so many good Neil Young albums, but for me, this one rings the most true, the themes, arrangements, music, band, all seem to gel so well...my favorites, "Coming apart at every nail", and "Little Wing". "Mental. Me and a pal were crying with laughter when we first heard this in the 6th form common room. People actually make records like this? It still makes me laugh but it's also an amazing record. "More rhythmically complex than Music For 18 Musicians (especially on Violin Phase, some of the rhythms on that are insane), but not quite as euphoric." Reply

"There are some albums that may not be that great but for one reason or another find a place in a listeners heart. This is one of those albums for me. I was young, life was crappy and this provided a good escape to an 11 year old me." Reply
