Then I finally stopped my nonsense and researched it. Turns out this was made when Simon was taking a bit of a hiatus from his burgeoning a..."  [+]  Reply

"Naveed" is an awesome album and "Clumsy" is a good follow-up, but it might be a little bit too similar to its predecessor to really stand out. But..."  [+]  Reply

"The starting albums of Mark II, Mark III, and Mark IV are all not given enough credit, each one bringing a new burst of energy to the band. Tommy Bolin brings a fresh guitar attack, and there's hardly a weak song on the album. Stronger than Who Do We Think We are."  Reply

"Whether or not this is a bunch of old outtakes or unfinished tracks doesn't really make a difference to my ears. Elliott’s masterful and seemingly effortless songwriting shines through often without much instrumental backing other than a clean acoustic guitar. It's not lo-fi like Roman Candle or ..."  [+]  Reply

"Too Far to Care combines alt-country and surf rock in a way that feels loose and spontaneous, with Rhett Miller's lyrics sounding plausibly like they could have been written on the back of a cocktail napkin. But this album is far from sloppy or unfocused. The band, pushed along by Ken Bethea’s go..."  [+]  Reply
