Consistently moody and melancholic, Amos treads the same territory she has stayed on throughout her career. I noticed a distinctly Kate Bush vibe to "Native Invader." Kate Bush is a decent standard to set for oneself. Nothing as memorable as "Cornflake Girl" or "God", but some hummable diversions nonetheless.
Consistently high quality songwriting, beautifully played and sung.

I haven’t listened to a TA album since 1994’ Under The Pink. Seeing Native Invader bob up on a 2017 best list I decided to check it out. Unfortunately not much has changed & this is pretty much the same album I heard 23 years ago. You’ve got TA’ voice, a piano and a bunch of ordinary songs. Same old same old, yawn .
