May21. Well, of course we have to start with a song about beer with '100 Cans of Beer', which is followed by the appropriate 'Feeling Average' - my favourite song on this album. 'Moon Over Victoria' is also a cool song built over a repetitive, fuzzed-out riff.
On early listens of this album, I felt it was not up there with their best, and I still feel that way now, but several songs have certainly grown on me. Good examples of this are 'Better in the Shed' and 'Too Dumb to Die', both built on decent riffs.
The last few tracks have some fun and interesting lyrics and experiment in style a little, which is not really a strength of the band. They are at their best just riffing out ;).
There is always some fun to be had on a Cosmic Psychos album, and it is here, just by the barrow-load, not ute load. 3.5/5
