A decade and a half after Computer Games, after a run of albums that were...pretty good...out of nowhere, completely unexpected, came a P-Funk masterpiece. That's how I heard it at the time (I have some great memories with this album), and how I still hear it. A couple of slight clunkers (New Spaceship, Underground Angel), but the rest is chill and heavy and super funky. A top 5 P-Funk album for me.
