Lathun, the professional moniker of singer Lathun Grady, released his debut album on Motown Records in 2002 - (Cat #: 440 016 704-2) attempting to distinguish himself among a growing crop of nuevo soul balladeers - and his efforts are not without merit. His silky falsetto will endear him to plenty of listeners and he can emote what his often self-composed lyrics intend. He even holds his own with established duet partner India.Arie on "When Love Came In." The falsetto becomes a bit grating when strung together with ballad after ballad, though.
