Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 1% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 88.5/100, a mean average of 87.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 89.0/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 14.6.

Unquestionably a legend.
He is to jazz what the Beatles and Elvis are to pop and rock. Releases such as Kind of Blue, Sketches of Spain and Bitches Brew transcend the genre and are must haves in any music collection
The quintessential jazz artist. Because he transcended the genre
one of the best....
Best jazz artist oat
So many classic albums! bitches brew, kind of blue, silent way, sketches of spain, and the list goes on
Best jazz artist of all time.
The best jazz Trompeter ever Kind of Blue changed much of things.
Probably because I'm a jazz neophyte, but I prefer his 50s and early 60s work over what came later. Whatever you prefer, there's no questioning his genius.
GOAT.
