Long, spacey and mysterious. Perhaps on a journey to discover various species on an alien planet? In general Australis continues the trend of the previous two albums: to produce immersive and melodic sound tapestry.

The Apples in Stereo as travellers in space and time. Heavily influenced by ELO and their "Time" album, it's a silly, synthesized, fun and all round delightful time travel full of dreams about the future.

Wondaland of mushrooms and roses. Musically all over the place with soul, funk, r&b, classical, psychedelic and pretty much any other label you can throw after a record. Wonderful and sprawling pop!

Not quite as bright as what the album title suggests. It's The National, so naturally it's still pervaded by sorrow and melancholia, but with a more triumphant feel to it than the previous "Boxer". The songs are generally more catchy including my favourite National song, the paranoid "Afraid of Everyone" (listen to those backing vocals and guitar trills, wow!). I think I've made up my mind now, I prefer this to "Boxer"!

Electronic flavours topped off with synths contra the first vampire weekend, but with baroque and Afrobeat elements still present. The new unfamiliar sounds go well the old ones creating a second very infectious and adorable Vampire Weekend album.

The end for Kings of Leon? I remember when I first heard "Radioactive", it was the sound of a decent lead single, but also the sound of a massive comedown. The album is neither artistically their greatest album nor does it contain their most popular singles, but it has a great feel, a beachy and laid-back feel. Overall pleasant album!
