Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Everybody on this website has the right to make a chart and put the albums he wants if they are his favorites, even if these are not the highest-ranked on BEA or albums considered as commercial or simple.
I believe that anybody who joined this website and makes charts deserves recognition from the other members because its shows an interest for music that is superior to any common person who only listens to the latest hit heard on the radio that would be forgotten a few months later. This is why I'm not harsh for rating the others'charts.
You took your time to explain the reasons why you don't like my tastes, so that's ok with me.
PS: and if you like Grandaddy, I advise you to give Darker my Love's 2 album (ranked #4 in my list) a listen.

Sorry, my friend, I'll explain my position.
90% of your choices represent what I most hate both aesthetically and ideologically in music from the last 30 years. These completely plain pop punk/post-grunge bands that recycled old concepts with more poppy and commercial themes.
I appreciate your choosing of The Sophtware Slump, thought, which is a creative record that explores new elements.
Once again, I didn't mean to offend you! I apologise for being that rispid and hope you don't mind my silliness.
(And thank you for you 100/100 on my chart, even if it was ironic.)

Yeah not bad, there's just not much diversity here, especially when the majority of your top 10 are albums from the previous 10 years or so. Don't get me wrong Muse are great but I seriously don't believe that if you listened to some older classics and even some other post-britpop acts that you'll still think the 2nd law is your second favourite album of all time. But hey each to their own, like i said some decent choices but i really think you ought to experience the vast majority of other brilliant bands/records that are out there, or more simply right here on this site.

Good stuff from the latest era of rock. Would be great to be rounded with more 70s, 80s and early 90s. Still is good start. Regards from Rocko.
