Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Thanks for the rating...but I'm surprised to hear not enough genres on my list. The only genre I don't have is hip hop because I simply hate it. I have rock of all kinds, jazz, piano based rock and piano based pop, country/bluegrass. Anyways I do like your list a lot besides nothing pre 1990.

Glad to see someone appreciate Siamese Dream enough to make it #1. Have you tried listening to music from earlier generations. As someone that loves Siamese Dream, I could see you really appreciating what influenced this album...some psychedelic rock (which isn't all acid tripping whack stuff). Check out the best of stuff (sometimes best way to get to know an artist) of the Beatles: Best of 1967-1970 and Rolling Stones: Hot Rocks 1964-1971.

some really awesome records here, only flaw is that there aren't any before 1991- you might be missing out on experiencing some all-time classics man, anyway respect for putting siamese dream as your number 1 - much respect

There's a lot I like about this chart, but there's a few albums that bring it down. Also Nevermind is the oldest album you have; there's nothing from before 1991. It's nice though, I do like it overall.

I would recommend Pixies "Doolittle" and The Stooges "Raw Power". Then check anything from my chart (that's what mikeyskywalker actually meant ;) ).
