Top 25 Greatest Music Albums
by rickyjames

I'll comment on the top 5:

1) Seargant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band- It's number one because it's the defining album of the defining generation of music. Also it defined the Beatles, who are undoubtedly the greatest band of all time.
2) I have Thriller at number 2 not because it's the greatest selling of all time, bu because it's a damn good album and it defined and impacted music like nothing since Seargant Pepper. Michael Jackson's defining album.
3) No one defined America in music like Bruce Springsteen did in Born to Run.
4) Linkin Park's debut received mixed reviews when it came out, but it went on to be the best selling original album of the 2000s. It's so emotionally uncontrolled and raw, with the angry-sounding mixing of Joe Hahn, soaring guitar and keyboard riffs, Mike Shinoba's rapping, and full out screaming of Chester Bennington, that I had to put it here. It's the pure musical translation of frustration and anger.
5) The greatest hip-hop album of all time, completely out of the blue and original.
