Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 83.0/100, a mean average of 77.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.5/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 19.8.

Nice chart
Don't like 80s glam rock/metal, but the chart is nice and diverse. Also the number 1 is fantastic
Hard Rock, Prog Rock, Glam Rock - I guess you were born in the 60`s...no your account says: 1970 - so maybe you had some elder brothers...or you were listening to AC/DC, Slade or Sweet in the age of 8-10?
The whole chart is better than the top 10 promise. It has a great variety of styles and lot´s of rare picks as well.
Some very nice albums are in, but also very strange combinations. Interesting though...
Same number one, classic album but our charts are very different. I like some Sabbath albums, I also like Back in Black but metal isn't my fav genre. Still I have been known to dust off my air guitar on occasion. I like the overall diversity of the chart. It gets quite eclectic the further on you read. Some notes would be nice, if you had time. Good work overall man.
Nice chart! Making me dig up some old metal!
Funny chart.
A lot of mainstream metal that I don´t like, but I respect the chart for beeing pretty personal, diverse and thanks for introducing artists like Okean Elzy and a lot of 50`s stuff.
"Tracy Chapman" is a beautiful album anyway.
Maybe its because of a lot of 80s mainstream stuff(it was the worst decade for minstream music)this chart ain't for me. Good to see Sun Structures in your chart.
@ nachosbob:
Thanks!
I think by Black Crowes is the "Money Maker" the first and "The Southern Harmony" the second.
Today I think so. Tomorrow maybe not :)
Don't worry... I'm here to save your average rating! (He did that to me too)
It's really ignorant to hate albums that you have never heard, and while I can't speak on James Blunt, I can certainly say that Songs about Jane was a great pop record...
If you like the Black Crowes you should check out Southern Harmony and Musical Compantion (if you haven't yet...)
