if I had to lose all of my music and only keep one decade then it would be the seventies I would keep, that said, the sixties albums are a close second. Without doubt, many of the best albums of all times were born in the seventies. In order to keep my comments up to date I will be updating them as I re-listen to the albums listed, in most cases I will be commenting on the vinyl, although it is likely that I will have CD versions too. The only real reason for buying CD's was to listen to music in the car. In my opinion, vinyl cannot be trumped for sound or the tactility of something truly beautiful.

I have just taken the vinyl off the turntable (April 2020). These surreal times are affording a lot more time for vinyl immersion and I am reminded when listening to this incredible prog masterpiece that not only was Neil Peart an amazing drummer, he was a great lyricist too. In my top three Rush albums and I have most of the early output. No weak tracks and my favourite Rush track of all time in 'Xanadu'. The Mini Moog synthesizer is used to great effect on this album which as a whole I think sits more in the prog camp that metal or hard rock. Great cover design too. 27 albums in common with my own 70's chart, 20 in common with my top 100 all time list. The 70's is definitely my favourite decade. Great chart.
