I know, ugh, starting another chart with Revolver. However, as much as I try, I cannot find a better album. Every time I listen, I am just blown away by the sheer talent of their songwriting, with the relative low point probably being Doctor Robert (many other albums wish their worst track could be as good as Doctor Robert).

Many would consider this a sin, putting Kid A ahead of OKC (especially this far ahead), but the creativity of this album is unparalleled. It ALMOST makes The Beatles recording techniques seem boring (until you listen to them again). I remember someone telling me the album required repeat listens and so I put off listening to it. But when I finally did, it did not require repeat listens. I was blown away by the first note, thinking, 'this is Radiohead?'

On the very first chart I ever made, Abbey Road was around 80-90. It seemed just like stadium rock that it turned me off. But listening over time either made me convince myself that it was good, or I finally understood why it was so loved. The production and the feel is completely different than any other Beatles record.

Sometimes I convince myself this record isn't too great, and Wish You Were Here is better. But when I listen, all the memories of its greatness come back. Epic music with epic lyrics and a touch of beautiful philosophy.

There's not much I can say about this record that has not been said before. I almost listen to it every day. It isn't every day that you find a songwriter who is a story teller as much as he is a musician, and is backed up by great musician/experimentalists. From the drones to the guitar to Lou's voice the music is brilliantly unique and phenomenal.

I have gotten in many arguments over this choice, but I wholeheartedly believe In Utero is superior to Nevermind. Extremely raw and powerful and unrelenting with lack of a glossy production to hide behind Nirvana finds itself at its best.

From Brian Wilson's genius comes the album that touches my inner romantic. Extremely wistful and beautiful, nothing else to say.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 5% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 88.8/100, a mean average of 90.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 91.3/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 6.2.

A great collection of solid strong albums. Like how it is filled with Beatles and Radiohead albums along with other classics.
