Top 100 Music Albums of 2021 by DommeDamian

Note: some of the joints (noticeable in the top 45 or so) may be given writing credits to Mercury, since I'm too busy trying to come up with exact wording, as well as giving props to the job Mercury has done. So if you find statements here and there that's related if not directly pasted from Mercury, U NO Y!

These write-up are more like comments than actual reviews/descriptions, and all of them have the same structure; taking about its correlation to other 2021 albums of its kind, its weaknesses, and its worst- and best songs....but I'm a combination of busy and lazy atm so...

Honourable Mentions:
none that are worth mentioning...
but Tyler The Creator's album did have the song called Sweet on it, which is better than any song of the 65's and downwards. Except the songs on the Dave, Sheeran, and Cassandra Jenkins' albums.

First and last song are the best (Instrumental is a highlight of the entire year; a fantastic dynamic between drummer Charlie Wayne - clear as day the most fiery musician in the band - and the atmospheric core of the rest). There, I can totally see what everybody thinks. The rest though.... eh.... goes from terrible to decent. Athens France is the worst offender, that song does not belong on here or on any album that gets #1 of the year. Science Fair is mediocre, but at least better than its predecessor. Sunglasses and Track X are fine enough, but they're not great nor excellent. They just reach the average that some of the year's worst album's best moments has.
If you haven't figured it out by now, my opinion states the vocalist should get another career.

The EP goes from sooomewhat exciting ambient with few electronic elements (Haut, Ahonk) to mediocre attempt at rhythmic electronic pop (Andalu, Dark Phase I) to an end of a good - not more than just good - combination of ambient and big beat drums (Dark Phase II). Almost like Ignorace by TWS, but just slightly more consistent.

This is probably the closest that Griselda gets to produce anything good.

A metal album with impressive keys in the technical field, but suffers from content shortage. The small musical passages doesn't fit, and the solos feels odd. But the variation makes it climb a little higher in quality, compared to most pretentious, aimless corny metal albums around the same era.

Celeste's voice is technically good (like an R&B singer should be), but it can sometimes be so clean that it slips between its own aesthetic (case in point, Strange). Luckily it ain't always like that. Besides Beloved - which embodies what Not Your Muse (or Celeste in general, artistically speaking) is about; airy R&B that drives back to older times, and contains melodramatic factors to give it a greater emotion - this album is not really in vein with my type of R&B. It's not crisp at all, and the melodies are virtually hard to find. However, I cannot hate on it; it's doing its thing.

Standard post-rock GY!BE, nothing more with less intensity.

A semi-experiemental album that both is interesting in its shortcomings and artificial in the style. I don't buy into the premise of it being the new great prog rock album in a long time. It's still a good album, but it simply doesn't keep its "promise".

Same old same old from the duet, but just an album instead of EP. And there's not a song here that matches the groove of All Bidness. No obnoxiously bad song here, no great song here either. This is ultimately hip hop background music (but it's awesome in that lane).

One 30 minute song, with much going for it (especially in the noisier parts), but a few moments here and there keeps it from being a consistently thought-out project. Those parts can be found from the 13 to 19 minute mark, feels superficially styled without truth in it. This is not Orchid level screamo, but it isn't striving for that style, which is to Territorios benefit. I mostly enjoy it, and to emo/screamo/punk fans, I still recommend.

Thanks for shouting me out. This chart is solid so far. Some of the comments (especially the one on Sharecroppers Son and on the best album cover of the year Solar Power) I don’t dig, but it’s great hearing your perspective.

The reason I don’t dig the Sharecropper’s Son comment is I don’t recall any country there. It’s got some country soul but that is very different. And yeah your point stands, most people don’t associate black people with country music. But country soul… well, there are not too many legends of that genre that aren’t black. But alas, I am dwelling. This chart and these comments are solid. I plan on writing something up about the new Mogwai soon. Thanks for the recommendation

. I recommend to you Delta Estácio blues by
Juçara Marçal - have been listening to it a lot lately and it’s awesome. Methinks
