"This is the best of the three masterpieces produced by the band. At the forefront of their sound, were the dream-like naieve vocals of Laetitia Sadier that overlayed unpredictable electronic rhythms and beautifully subtle arrangements. The voice acted as a kid of surreal instrument which blended ..."  [+]  Reply

One of the best hard rock albums of all time IMNSHO. It's more richly produced than his other albums & is embellished with strings & instruments Phil Spector-style, but I think that only g..."  [+]  Reply

Stuart Staples has an amazing voice, and on their debut they manage to create a perfect melancholic record. The album lasts 77 minutes, as ..."  [+]  Reply

"She Don't Use Jelly is a great track. But there's so much more to this album. Great throughout. Jelly is probably in the lower half of songs on this album. Be My Head is a personal favourite. Why isn't this in the top 1000?"  Reply

"A album overlooked by the prejudice that James are a one hit wonder whose only good song is "Laid". This album totally blew me away after I lifted my own prejudice against it."  Reply
