"A bad acid trip. This album ventures out into pretty frightening territory, while combining a vast variety of musical style. This is a complex nightmarish psychedelia. Listening will cause you to become tense, lost in darkness, paranoid. DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS RECORD WHILE ON ACID!"  Reply

"It's hard to put a finger on XTC. I understand why some people don't love them. They manage to be disorienting without the traditional means. The guitars frequently enter into repetitive hypnotic states, with a jagged bounce. Drums & Wires may be their finest collection, and a solid entry point f..."  [+]  Reply

"Released 5 months after Rust Never Sleeps, an almost live album with studio overdubs and removed crowd noise, Young released the fully live Live Rust. Starting off with Young playing solo, he is joined by Carzy Horse and turns in a rocking performance. The song selection is key, and it's mostly g..."  [+]  Reply

"The songs sound a little complicated and oblique but catchy at the same time. As avant as bowie is on this album, it's a pretty catchy album throughout, from the distorted guitar tempo of "red sails" to the "afro-pop-thru-devo" beat of "african night flight". A fair amount of credit goes to Brian..."  [+]  Reply

"Jeff Lynne was a popmeister. Confusion and Don't Bring Me Down were brilliant in that right but tracks like Midnight Blue cemented this as another solid outing by a band that was unabashedly Beatles-esque... yet not."  Reply

"The first Cure album is a great punky rock'n'roll record. 10:15 Saturday night, accuracy, grinding halt, and, fire in Cairo, are all superb. The cure really were a proper band at this moment and they would never again sound so energetic, punchy, and outright enjoyable. Good album."  Reply

"Ahhhhhh what an opening track!! And still this album doesn't slow down as it goes! One of the most influential albums to the thrash metal genre and all of rock n roll for that matter (Since Motorhead ARE rock n roll) ;)"  Reply

"Has it's moments and is often labeled with the hugely influential tag (perhaps more in attitude then the music itself). It's certainly an interesting album that I'm still not quite sure how to rate. If their supposed lack of musical ability is true, then they've put the careers of a lot of bands ..."  [+]  Reply

"The thing with Gary Numan is...he's not that great of a songwriter. He writes these limited little tunes that aren't great...BUT, he makes them interesting. He is good at putting catchy riffs in his music, and cool sounding synths, that make his music very listenable, enjoyable and atmospheric. T..."  [+]  Reply
