"A very minimalist album that does shine in places but also struggles to maintain my attention for the full run time. It has moments where it is really psychedelic and you end up getting lost in these crazy beats and rhythms which is exactly what the artist wants you to do. This is really helped b..."  [+]  Reply

"Contains four tracks that was to begin their run of twenty consecutive top 20 hits, making them one of the top 5 most successful artists of 80's chart history. "The Prince"(16), "One Step Beyond"(7), "My Girl"(3) and "Night Boat To Cairo"(6) all made it big but there are still more epic tracks on..."  [+]  Reply

"I used to have a 2-1 cassette with The Cars on one side and Candy O on the other. Poor old Candy O was IMO the poor cousin. Often I would just rewind many of the tunes say except Let's Go, Candy O and Dangerous Type so I could listen to The Cars again. Over time, while I still feel it isn't quite..."  [+]  Reply

"So much emotion is evoked through their whimsical electronica... I do prefer their revolutionary debut, but this is another excellent record from Yellow Magic Orchestra with beautiful melodies and lots of inventive, crazy fun !"  Reply

"Even if the classic song ratio is slightly lower than on the eponymous debut of 1978, "Van Halen II" (1979) is just as much fun - if not more - and to the band's credit, there's not a bad song on the album. The garage rock of "Van Halen" (1978) showcased surprising diversity - from a cappella, ba..."  [+]  Reply

"I really like how minimalistic and raw this feels, paired with the screeching, dissonant VU-esque violins in here every so often, it really has this really great quirky vibe to it. I can imagine just a bunch of friends jamming in a garage and thinking "fuck it, let's get it recorded". Also it's p..."  [+]  Reply

"Some of his stuff can be a little self-indulgent, but this album is completely on the money. Funny, irreverant and with some great tunes to boot, this is a classic Zappa album. I haven't gone through his whole catalogue, but this is my favourite so far."  Reply

"A fantastic live album that is very easy to just rock out too and have a great time. This is mainly due to the guitar playing which is out of this world and completely steals the show. It is a 1hour 16 minute lesson in how phenomenal the guitar can sound and this makes it a must listen just for t..."  [+]  Reply

"Abbas sixth album, "Voulez-Vous", from 1979 was recorded over a period of one year with the title track is actually recorded in Miami USA. Nevertheless, the album is one of the group's most consistent and most successful. Only a few songs fall into the category of "forgettable" and besides the bi..."  [+]  Reply

"One of the great disco albums ever. Donna summer plays the 'tart with a heart' on this hugely influential LP. Working again with Giorgio Moroder, this is a brilliant concept album featuring superb tracks such as, hot stuff, sunset people, and the title track. There's a couple of ballads but most ..."  [+]  Reply
