United Kingdom Yes
"Super-incredible instrumental virtuosity everywhere! More challenging than Yes' most classic albums, but no less musical. I find it awesome that for this album, they dispensed with any attempt whatsoever to make something with broad listening appeal and go for the absolute pinnacle of blow-your-m..."  [More]  Reply

"Because all music is designed for grown ups who behave responsibly. Music isn't about fun, you have to solve lifes problems, ponder existence and dabble with hamfisted socialist slogans and write songs about anorexia to go with it."  Reply

"I've heard in several places the Crooked Rain, Crooked rain is the most accessible Pavement album. However, after 3 listens, to my ears this seems to be the easiest to grasp. Really enjoying it so far, seems to be their most focused album. I'm falling in love with this band...too bad it's 2012"  Reply

""Katy Lied" is one of Steely Dan's great classic albums ( OK, they all are!) from when they were still a real band, and not "just" the Becker/Fagen duo. The Becker/Fagen aim for perfection is very much apparent here. Great production and playing. Inspired songwriting and dark thought-provoking ly..."  [More]  Reply

"Billy Joel adds a little more rock to his usual brand of pop, relying much less on piano than previous albums. As a pop/rock answer to the punk rock of the time ("it's still rock and roll to me"!), it's a solid album, with a very good first half which falls apart a bit in the 2nd."  Reply

"Ramones second and more of the same, possibly even better than the first album. I bought this and Ramones in early 77 as US import pressings and they were barely off my turntable for the whole year – best band ever and a soundtrack to my youth."  Reply

"this album goes beyond concept. you see, the problem with concept albums is that you can't always listen to tracks separately, you need to listen to the full piece. but donald achieved something great with this one. it's perfect (and ironic?) for a party, it's perfect for when you're feeling lone..."  [More]  Reply

"Not as strong as Rated R or Songs for the Deaf, but still a good rocker. Heavy foundation, searing guitar, and the coolest lead-singer of the 2000s... Geez, it sounds like I'm talking about an 80s metal band."  Reply

"My favourite Oldfield album. Side 2 of Tubular Bells began with that jangly, Celtic sounding melody and this album is of course Celtic themed, including the Gaelic singing/chanting in the second half of side 1(though I believe there isn't a lot of meaning behind what's she's saying over and over!..."  [More]  Reply
