"The perfect BOC record and my favorite of all time. "Golden Age Of Leather" may be their best track ever but even the laid back tracks have a strong appeal here. "Death Valley Nights" and "I Love The Night" almost suggest a Gothic Eagles. Very cool record."  Reply

"Inncercity Griots is perhaps, in a word, singular. Absolutely one of the titans of abstract hip hop from where I'm standing, Freestyle Fellowship combine the laid back, jazzy production of A Tribe Called Quest (along with a healthy dose of their penchant for "weird" lyrics) with a variety of uniq..."  [+]  Reply

"Slow-core at its best. This is actually quite heavy, the distortion is loud and the lyrics tender. The lead singer sings on Wird: "I wanna walk/But I have to crawl", and I guess that sums up Codeine's music as well. They could play fast and aggressive, but instead they tone it down and plays in a..."  [+]  Reply

"Hubbard's first album as leader is a real gem. The compositions are excellent as are the solos, and Hubbard is very ably supported by a young but tasteful and empathetic McCoy Tyner on piano."  Reply

"One of the great Southern Rock albums and one of the great debut albums in any genre. Every cut is worthwhile and most really shine. Green Grass and High Tides is the enduring Southern Rock epic, right up there with Free Bird and There Goes Another Love Song was a radio hit, but the rest of the a..."  [+]  Reply
