Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 68.8/100, a mean average of 68.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 68.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.0.

The hits are good/great, the rest is pretty forgettable. However, about half the album were hits.
Great album, great title. Rating (81.36)
I like this album, it's very consistent
F.U.C.K. Yeah!
Some things never change.
The four singles and the instrumental are great. Everything else is expendable.
Van Halen hits upon a formula here that would hem in their next album, stagnating albums sales, and lead to the break-up of the Sammy Hagar-fronted version - but on this album, the formula often comes up aces, with "Runaround," "Poundcake," and the stadium soundtrack staple "Right Now" making it one of the two Van Hagar albums even casual will likely casually appreciate - in between the filler. 7/10
5 out of the 12 VH albums were made without David Lee Roth. "F.U.C.K." is one of them. If your taste runs towards Bon Jovi, you'll probably like the 5 albums. It's corporate rock, totally, and even though that's not what I like - I like punk, and the edgy DLR VH - it's ok.
The problem with "F.U.C.K." is the same as on on all 5 non-Dave VH albums. There's filler and it's generic. "Spanked," In N' Out," and "Man on A Mission" are bland and a little boring, making the album seem monotonous.
The best songs on "F.U.C.K." are the best late '80s/early '90s arena rock I've heard. They pack a classic rock punch, have big singalong choruses, and aren't embarrassing. "Right Now" is a classic that's still played in stadiums all over the world. "Top of the World" is the perfect pop-rock song. "Runaround" is fun, and "The Dream Is Over" is interesting. "Judgement Day" and "Poundcake" are better than okay. The drums in "Pleasure Dome" are impressive.
Van Halen does Van Halen very well. It's too bad they don't do anything else. You could take the best few tracks from all their Hagar albums and it would make one solid album. But otherwise, they keep on recording the same thing - it's OK, but nothing new.
