Recorded with her long-time collaborator Cyd Cassone, Ruthie Foster is back - this time on Blue Corn Music (Cat#: BCM0202) - with 10 tunes of heartfelt soul and Americana released in 2001. Labelled "Hymns" on the album's back cover, the tunes cover a gamut of emotions with well-crafted melodies and lyrics. She even takes the time to cover classic Brownie McGee standard "Walk On". but the album closer "Joy" is one that will stick with me for a long time after the album is finished playing.
