they have a very solid very consistent back catalogue over their career. The six albums till The King Is Dead are all great (with Crane Wife and Picaresque being truly amazing and underrated to be honest) They never really achieve the heights of some other big indie bands, but for the most part they have always been at least good.
Good Band, live show is decent.

Nice band. The Crane Wife is their masterwork. But their other albums are worth checking out too.
One of the great live acts I've ever seen. Smart, catchy songs.
Absolutely superb band. Each album has a distinct character. In general they are a highly theatrical story-telling band; terrific musicians and wonderful arrangements.

Very very cool band!
Great live band - one of the few that really engage with their audience, these days - and they are building up a great catalogue of albums. Hazards of Love is awesome, with Picaresque and Crane Wife not far behind.
