Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 69.1/100, a mean average of 67.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 67.2/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 24.1.

@MountandrewIn what world does Mad as Rabbits sound like The only difference between martyrdom and suicide is press coverage
Pretty. Odd. is kind of spectacular. I wish they were brave enough to follow that sound instead of retreating back into the comfort of pop-rock.

I'm sorry. I couldn't never get through an entire song by them, let alone an album.
Not the best band, not the worst band......in other words, ok band.
A Fever You Can't Sweat Out is my favorite album, it's been cemented. I recently re-listened to Pretty Odd and discovered that I love it. Vices and Virtues is good, but sits on mediocre.
However Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die! I feel has no connection to A Fever or Pretty Odd, which are my favorites. Yeah the bands sound is changing and so am I. It is a pretty solid album but just not my style. However I would prefer to look at the positives which are that A Fever and Pretty Odd are outstanding records, that for me, will never be forgotten
*Edit* Well, since the release of DoaB, I've realized that Brendon's ego is bigger than this forehead. Especially with the whole ARTV thing. I'm beginning to dislike Brendon. As he's sold out. There's just so many problems rn surrounding Panic! as a band as as people (person). The Commercialism is extremely high. Panic is following the foot steps of Fall Out Boy. And that's not a good thing.
"Members who like this artist also like: Gorillaz, Sufjan Stevens and Mastodon"
Somehow, this is simultaneously both the worst description and the best description you could possibly give for the band.
I like to think my chart had some part in this.
A Fever You Can't Sweat Out is one of my favourite albums, Pretty Odd and Vices and Virtues are pretty good but Too Weird To Live Too Rare To Die is a disappointment for me, yeah Brendon lost all his members but there's no familiarity and comes across like a pop album. It's a good album just not as good as previous
Not bad at all. Pretty Odd is a very good album.
It's actually pretty good. I was skeptical about this band, but they've managed to entertain me quite a bit.
