Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)

This artist is rated in the top 1% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 86.4/100, a mean average of 86.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 86.7/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 12.1.

Not enough people are talking about the fact that Roger Daltrey is one of the greatest rock n' roll singer ever! What a voice!

I really like the Who, particularly Tommy and Quadrophenia, two amazing albums. Pete Townshend is great, John Entwistle is really good, Keith Moon is Keith Moon, energetic, over-present and very creative. I think these guys got the recognition they deserve, they're great! But Roger Daltrey is the real star for me here. I might be repeating myself, but seriously, WHAT A VOICE this guy had!

Far more adventurous than the rest of their British Invasion colleagues, The Who were influential on genres as polarizing as Punk (with their aggression and three-chord attacks in their early years) and Prog (with their concept albums, upbeat songwriting, atypical drumming, and live showmanship).

In the early years they rocked harder than their contemporaries & always took risks & forged their own path. Like all innovators some things went better than others however to me there has never been a bad Who album. Some just took a little longer to love. My personal favourite is Quadrophenia closely followed by Who's Next & their most underrated album Who By Numbers.

Fantastic Rock Band! Groundbreaking multiple times. Masters of the Rock Opera. Punk Pioneers. Killer songwriting from Pete Townsend, best rock vocals ever from Roger Daultry and the best rhythm section with Entwistle on bass and Moon on drums. Not the most prolific and not always consistent, but there's still enough of a critical mass of outstanding, seminal rock music there that they are/should be in the discussion as the greatest.

A 60s-70s group that were way ahead of their time, even with all the acclaim they received in their era. They've influenced genres from hard rock, art rock, progressive rock to punk rock, heavy metal and hardcore. Amazing band. Amazing talent. The only band to have a lead singer, lead guitarist, lead drummer and lead bassist.
