Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 72.1/100, a mean average of 68.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 68.4/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 17.1.

15 in my top 100, but some real bizarre choices here. Another chart with a random Elvis compilation (not an album!).
Well, it's an uneasy combination of all the old standbys (which are pretty good), and some newer stuff (which arent really in the same league as the old ones).

Wow, daft punk... that was a surprise.
Too american

Only a very few albums are where they should be on this list. But at least the albums are decent. Not so sure about Kanye west being so high up though.
Some great indie rock especially The Cure & Depeche Mode. Nice seeing them both get some love
I like this one a lot - one of the best overall charts from a top publication. Took a risk with ranking some recent albums high, but I appreciate that instead of only including albums prior to 1990.

I'm not that impressed. I don't get why they pu Lady Soul at 7 while they didn't even add I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You. I also don't get why Adele is put at 17.
Surprisingly good spread of decades here though, gotta give them that much.

Just look at the top ten to see how much of a joke this is. Got to be just one person compiling this. Think they forgot the remit of the task. Prince and kanye in top ten really? Please.
