I've excluded all albums that have overall ranks that are higher than the ones that I would give them. For example: Doolittle's overall rank is 19. I would not rank it that high, so it's not included in my list. Doolittle and all the other albums that I've excluded don't need my help since they're already rated highly. I'd rather make room for albums that do need my help. My "true" greatest albums list can be found in my custom lists.
I've also limited this chart to 1 album per artist 'cuz that's the in thing.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

This is one of the charts that convinced me to listen to all seven hours of The Disintegration Loops in one sitting. As effortless as an epic avant-garde excursion could be.
