Arcade Fire enters the musical arena with one of the best debut albums of all time, pairing complex, layered instrumentals with imaginative lyrics and phenomenal production. Nostalgia may cloud my ranking of Arcade Fire's The Suburbs, but to an extent, that's the intent of this record. Arcade Fire uses the concept of suburbia to build on a desperate need to escape, with lush layered instrumentals which flow from one song to the next
