Gets the hype it deserves. I'm happy that The Weeknd has made an 80s inspired album blended with today's pop-melancholies that actually sounds tight. Blinding Lights is such a great pick for most streamed song ever, and most of the other tracks are vibes too. Right now my 2nd favorite of this after House of Balloons.
Edit: I do not really enjoy this album anymore. They either felt overproduced in compressing or underwhelming in actual songwriting. Some horrendous songs like Faith and Snowchild (yuck) drags the enjoyment down. There is still some amazing pop/R&B tracks, primarily Blinding Lights, Alone Again (my favorite) and Save Your Tears and the title track. But other than that, I don't see any reason to revisit it anytime soon. [First added to this chart: 08/04/2025]

The cover art looks awful. Like he's so into the music, fuckoutta here boy. The music isn't much greater, with its bombastically unoriginal songwriting style and just as anonyme vocals.
