Top 50 Greatest Music Albums by dcovingt
The first 5 include my favorite from each decade; the second 5 are my second favorite from each decade and so on. Every 5 albums are sorted by my favorite.... So Pet Sounds is my favorite album from the 60s and I like it best of all my favorite albums. Spiderland is my second favorite from the 90s and I like it best of all my second favorite albums from each decade... does this make any sense? I think this is what Libertarian Coffee was suggesting, I think.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 83.1/100, a mean average of 82.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 82.5/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 12.3.

Interesting way of organization!
I like your 70s and your 00s
lotta good stuffs on heres
Interesting chart. I like the idea of decade based lists. I always find it hard to compare albums from different decades. Lots of good albums on this list.
haha, sorry mido, that was for a comment that i think was deleated from 0123456789.
and thanks!
Good balance, that's all
0123456789 i'm not sure what you're insinuating with that comment.
Gee, I wonder where they go that idea from...
Nice mix (10 for every decade)
Especially for me.
